Şerafettin İSTE

Şerafettin İste is a senior legal consultant with more than four decades of judicial experience, including service as President of the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation (Yargıtay).

He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1971 and began his judicial career in Istanbul. Over the course of his career, he served as a public prosecutor and subsequently held a number of senior judicial positions, including presidencies of Assize Courts and Justice Commissions in various jurisdictions.

In 2004, he was elected as a Justice of the Court of Cassation. In 2013, he was elected by the Grand General Assembly of the Court of Cassation as President of the 1st Criminal Chamber, a position he held until his retirement in 2014.

At Iste & Iste, he contributes his extensive judicial experience to matters involving criminal law, white-collar crime, internal investigations and complex proceedings involving potential criminal liability.
