Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Işıl

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Işıl is an academic and sector expert focusing on banking, financial regulation, financial markets and financial technologies.

He graduated from the Department of Public Finance at Karadeniz Technical University and completed his master’s and doctoral studies in Banking at Marmara University’s Institute of Banking and Insurance. His doctoral research focused on the role of foreign capital in mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector.

He began his academic career at Marmara University in 2001 and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Banking at Marmara University’s Faculty of Financial Sciences. He teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in banking, central banking, financial markets and investment institutions and supervises graduate research.

His work focuses on the structure and regulation of the banking sector, financial markets, central banking, investment institutions, bank mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, risk management and the economic analysis of financial systems.
