Assoc. Prof. Dr. G\u00f6khan I\u015f\u0131l is an academic and sector expert focusing on banking, financial regulation, financial markets and financial technologies.<\/p>\n

He graduated from the Department of Public Finance at Karadeniz Technical University and completed his master\u2019s and doctoral studies in Banking at Marmara University\u2019s Institute of Banking and Insurance. His doctoral research focused on the role of foreign capital in mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He began his academic career at Marmara University in 2001 and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Banking at Marmara University\u2019s Faculty of Financial Sciences. He teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in banking, central banking, financial markets and investment institutions and supervises graduate research.<\/p>\n

His work focuses on the structure and regulation of the banking sector, financial markets, central banking, investment institutions, bank mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, risk management and the economic analysis of financial systems.<\/p>\n

His academic research covers, among other areas, mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector, foreign-owned banks, Basel standards, credit and liquidity risk, and the functioning of financial systems.<\/p>\n

Drawing on this expertise, he provides financial and sector-specific insight<\/strong> in support of \u0130ste & \u0130ste\u2019s work involving financial institutions, regulated industries and corporate transactions with significant financial dimensions.<\/p>\n

Fintech & Digital Finance<\/span><\/h3>\n

His areas of interest also include financial technologies, open banking, crypto-assets and blockchain technologies. He has published work on cryptocurrencies and blockchain and examines the impact of emerging financial technologies on traditional banking and the broader financial system.<\/p>\n

Academic Work<\/span><\/h3>\n

Assoc. Prof. Dr. I\u015f\u0131l has authored national and international academic publications, books and book chapters in the fields of banking and finance. He also serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals and supervises graduate theses.<\/p>\n
